Texas offers plenty of options for families looking to spend a day outdoors on a working farm. From wide-open ranch land to smaller countryside spots, you’ll find places where kids can get close to animals, explore barns and fields, and enjoy fresh air away from the city. These farm days out suit toddlers through to older children, with plenty of space to roam and simple, hands-on fun for the whole family.
Before you head out, check the farm’s own website for opening times and any seasonal activities, since these can change with the weather or time of year. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, as farmyards can get muddy, and consider booking ahead if you’re visiting during school holidays when spots fill up quickly.
This guide features a selection of farms from across Texas. See all 158 farm parks in Texas on the map.
