New York State offers plenty of options for a family day out on a working farm. From the Hudson Valley to the Finger Lakes and beyond, you’ll find farm parks and petting zoos where kids can get close to animals, explore open fields, and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re near the city or upstate, there’s likely a farm experience within reach for a relaxed, low-key outing.
Before you head out, check the farm’s own website for opening times and any seasonal closures. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, since fields can get muddy, and consider booking ahead during school holidays when farms tend to get busier.
This guide features a selection of farms from across New York State. See all 495 farm parks in New York State on the map.
