Devon’s countryside is home to a good spread of farm parks and petting farms, perfect for a relaxed family day out. Many sit among rolling hills or close to the coast, offering a mix of open fields, undercover activities and space for children to explore at their own pace. Whether you’re after a rainy-day option or a sunny afternoon outdoors, the region has plenty of choice for younger visitors.
Before you set off, check the farm’s own website for opening times and any seasonal changes. Wellies or sturdy shoes are a good idea, as farmyards can get muddy, and booking ahead is worth considering during school holidays.
