Iowa has plenty of family-friendly farms offering a relaxed day outdoors, from petting areas with friendly animals to open fields perfect for little ones to explore. Whether you’re near the bigger cities or out in the countryside, you’ll find farms across the state welcoming visitors for a simple, wholesome outing away from screens and city noise.
Before you head out, check the farm’s own website or social media for current opening times and any seasonal activities. Wear sturdy shoes or wellies, since farmyards can be muddy, and pack a change of clothes for the kids just in case.
